Open maps_scanner from your desktop or Start menu.

The scan can take a few moments depending on the size of your Defender data.

After scanning, the app will show a summary report.

- Choose where to save scan reports

You can adjust these options in the "Settings" menu accessible from the main interface.
- If the app does not open, check that your Windows is updated.
- Make sure Microsoft Defender is running.
- If scanning fails, close other apps that may use Defender data.
- Restart your computer if the app freezes.
- For permission problems, run maps_scanner as an administrator (right-click the app icon and select "Run as administrator").
maps_scanner reads only Defender’s data on your device. It does not send your information to any external servers unless you choose to share reports yourself.
All scanning and parsing happen locally on your machine. Your data stays private.
