Summary

Clarifies the WarehousePG version in the "WarehousePG and PostgreSQL Compatibility" section of the 7x Feature Summary page, and corrects the PostgreSQL versions it cites.

  • The intro said "WarehousePG is based on PostgreSQL 9.4." without saying which WarehousePG version it applies to. It now reads "WarehousePG 7 is based on PostgreSQL 12.12."
  • 9.4 was also wrong for 7.x, which is based on PostgreSQL 12.12 (PG_PACKAGE_VERSION=12.12 in the warehouse-pg configure). I updated the other stale references on the page to match:
    • "PostgreSQL 9.4" in the notes for CREATE/REFRESH MATERIALIZED VIEW, CREATE/DROP EXTERNAL TABLE, CREATE/DROP RESOURCE QUEUE, and RETRIEVE
    • "PostgreSQL 9.6" in the notes for ALTER/CREATE/DROP EXTENSION

Only docs/whpg/7x/ref_guide/misc/feature_summary.md changes (11 lines, wording only). 6x is untouched because 6.x really is based on PostgreSQL 9.4.

Notes for reviewers

  • The extension rows previously said 9.6. I changed them to 12.12 for consistency, so please confirm that is accurate for those commands.
  • I did not build the site to check the rendering.

State the WarehousePG version in the compatibility intro sentence and update
the stale PostgreSQL 9.4/9.6 references to 12.12, which is what WarehousePG 7
is based on.
