Resolves: Items moving when frozen

Explain Change →

Walkthrough

EditPosition::freezeItemsPositions now processes eligible items as a batch. It disables autoplace, triggers layout, updates the score, and adjusts offsets to preserve saved positions and spanner segment endpoints. The single-item freezeItemPosition helper is removed. Chord layout updates bounds for visible staff-anchored articulations. New tests cover articulation, dynamic, and hairpin-segment freezing, including undo restoration.

Merge Risk: Low · up to a99d3

Freezing positions can retain inaccurate offsets if layout does not converge. The remaining risk is bounded; an explicit recovery path would make this edge case safer.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 20.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 5 functions across 3 files. (4 skipped: 4 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Handle non-convergence before committing frozen offsets.

When the finite pass limit is exhausted, converged remains false. IF_ASSERT_FAILED only logs in release builds, and the code still records the last, unconverged offsets through undoChangeProperty. This can leave items at positions that are not frozen. Add an explicit recovery path before committing offsets.
