Bundles feat/extension-i18n-060, fix/inspect-reply-routing-061 and feat/panel-resume. Extension 0.5.61. Do not merge until CWS 0.5.58 is published (zip change triggers CWS upload).

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Resume supported terminal sessions from the side panel, with imported conversation history.
    • Choose a project folder for new conversations and remember project folders for websites.
    • View and receive notifications for replies to Inspect & Ask.
    • The extension interface is now available in Simplified Chinese.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved Inspect & Ask reply routing to avoid sending replies to a same-named terminal session.
    • Fixed communication with the Options page.

…Chinese

Move every user-visible string in the side panel, popup, options page,
Inspect & Ask frame, notifications and manifest into _locales (en default,
zh_CN). chrome.i18n follows Chrome's UI language with English fallback.
Text sent to the agent or CLI stays English.

The redesigned Inspect & Ask panel's text (chooser heading, Use for this
site / This tab only, option rows, element cards, composer bar, target bar)
goes through the same keys; keys the redesign no longer shows are removed.

Adds i18n.js (t, messageMap, applyI18n), a chrome.i18n test stub backed by
the real messages files, and tests for key and placeholder parity, keys
referenced in code, empty messages and zh_CN rendering.
… in a tab

options_ui.open_in_tab gives the options page a sender.tab, which the panel
sender check refused, so the bound-sites list showed 'Agent services require
the packaged extension panel'. The page is not web-accessible; accept it as
the top frame of its tab.
0.5.59 (the redesigned Inspect & Ask panel) was never published; 0.5.60 includes it, the localization and the options-in-tab binding fix.
… holds and keep agent replies

Deliveries went out as `--as chrome-use`, the workspace alias of any session in
the chrome-use repo, so the target agent's reply woke that unrelated session.
Each Chrome profile now sends as chrome-use.inspect.<hash>, skipping any candidate
a live session or saved ocs name answers to. The host reads replies addressed to
it (inspectReplies), redacts and caps them, and stores them per delivery.
The inspect frame polls its sent batch's replies (inspectReplies) and renders
them through the Markdown renderer; the side panel lists all replies, and the
existing turn notifications announce new ones with a badge entry. Hosts without
the inspectReplies capability are never asked.
Throttle before scanning delivery records, list other channels with ocs inbox at
most once a minute, focus the window a reply notification opens, and teach the
acceptance fake ocs and its sender assertion about the new identity.
…anel

Add conversationSessionList and conversationResume to the panel service.
Claude, Codex and Pi sessions are read (bounded head/tail, read-only) from
each CLI's session directory, honoring CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, CODEX_HOME and
PI_CODING_AGENT_*; OpenCode is asked through its own ACP session/list and
session export. A resumed conversation is bound to the CLI session and its
directory: Claude and Codex run there, OpenCode is given it in the protocol
and Pi is pointed at its session file, so nothing is written into the
project. The earlier transcript is journaled as redacted importedHistory
events, a session that looks active elsewhere needs confirmation, and a
session already continued opens its existing conversation. Hosts advertise
sessionResume: 1.
… panel

The composer treats /resume [query] as a built-in command (before skill
lookup) and the conversation menu offers "Resume a session…". The picker
lists the agent's recent sessions with title, project, time and an
"Active elsewhere" badge; choosing one binds a new conversation to it,
after an explicit confirmation when the session looks active in another
terminal, or opens the conversation that already continues it. History
imported from the session shows as one collapsed "Earlier in this
session" block that says what was not recorded. Hosts without
sessionResume get an update hint. The feature's strings live in
RESUME_TEXT for localization.
A resumed Codex thread restores its model's default effort, so the
conversation starts from the model of the session's latest turn instead of
failing when the CLI config names none. Imported OpenCode turns that the
panel sent no longer show the panel's instructions as the user's text.
scripts/panel-acceptance/resume-live.mjs creates a throwaway session with
the real CLI in a private data directory, resumes it through the service
socket and checks the agent remembers the earlier turn.
conversationDelete removes the agent CLI's own session history for
conversations the panel started. A resumed conversation is bound to a
session that belongs to the user's terminal, so its history is now kept
(cliHistory.kept: "external") and the delete confirmation says so.
…ed project

conversationCreate takes an optional project folder (absolute, existing,
not a system, home or panel-data folder; not for Pi, which reads its MCP
servers from the folder it runs in). Claude and Codex run there and
OpenCode is given it in the protocol; MCP config, attachments and capture
outputs stay in the conversation's private folder, so nothing is written
into the project. It is fixed at creation and reported as
conversation.project; a resumed session's folder becomes its project.
conversationProjectList offers recent folders from panel conversations,
Claude and Codex sessions and Inspect & Ask bindings;
conversationProjectChoose opens the native folder picker from the service
(osascript, FolderBrowserDialog, zenity/kdialog, or unavailable).
inspectProject and inspectProjectBind read and write a site's project in
the Inspect & Ask binding store, refusing to overwrite a binding that
changed since it was shown. Hosts advertise projectDirectory: 1.
…s remember theirs

The new-conversation options get a project chip: the private folder
(default), recent folders from the host, or Other… which opens the
host's native folder picker (or asks for a typed path where there is
none). A site's remembered project (Inspect & Ask bindings) is
preselected; after choosing another, the panel offers to remember it for
the site, never overwriting a binding that changed meanwhile. The
conversation header shows its fixed project. The options page labels
bindings that only name a project. Strings in English and Simplified
Chinese; 0.5.61 changelog updated.
…ader visible

Visual check on the build host: the question was hidden again by the
reset after creation and by selecting the new conversation, and the
status row (with the project) stayed hidden for a new conversation that
had no model yet. The header names only the folder.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 7e16f

Resolve the session-binding and deletion risk before merging: resuming a project-backed session can create a second conversation whose history may be removed with the original. OpenCode also receives a missing project path after that folder is moved or deleted. The remaining issues affect release-note accuracy and displayed text.

Changelog omits Pi from the /resume list.

The line lists Codex, Claude Code and OpenCode sessions. The PR objectives and the session discovery layer also cover Pi. Add Pi to the list, or state that Pi is excluded. This keeps the notes consistent with line 11, which says Pi is not supported for project folders.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Fall back to the workspace when the project folder no longer exists.

Setup::process_directory falls back to workspace when project is not a directory. Line 65 has no such check. If the user deletes or moves a project folder, OpenCode receives a nonexistent cwd in session/new or session/resume. The turn then fails, but the same conversation runs normally for Claude and Codex. Apply the same is_dir check here.

Bind ordinary project sessions before allowing resume.

conversationCreate accepts a valid project directory outside the panel data root. Claude uses it as its process cwd, and OpenCode sends it as the ACP session cwd. Their sessions therefore pass the panel_root exclusion and appear in conversationSessionList.

Store::save() indexes chat.summary(), but ordinary summaries omit sessionId. bound_sessions reads only resumed.sessionId, so conversationResume can create a second conversation for the same CLI session.

Deleting the original conversation then removes the non-external CLI session history used by the resumed conversation.

Suggested fix
-                row["resumed"]["sessionId"].as_str()?.to_string(),
+ row["resumed"]["sessionId"]
+                    .as_str()
+                    .or_else(|| row["sessionId"].as_str())?
+                    .to_string(),

Add sessionId: self.session_id to every summary used for the store index.

Update bound_sessions to read the session ID from resumed.sessionId first and
fall back to the top-level sessionId for ordinary sessions, so both kinds are
bound before resume is allowed.

Document the Pi capability boundary consistently.

Pi supports session resumption, but Pi does not support project folders.

  • docs/changelog.html#L84-L84: add Pi to the /resume session list and state the project-folder limitation.
  • docs/en/extension-changelog.html#L56-L56: add the Pi project-folder limitation.

Add Pi to the agents in the v1.5.220 /resume entry.

This entry lists only Codex, Claude Code and OpenCode. sessions::supported also accepts pi. README.md, docs/en/agent-panel.html and the fixtures all document Pi resume. Users who read the changelog will think that Pi sessions cannot be continued.

Fall back to sessionId when sessionLabel is absent.

sessionLabel is optional in the binding response. If a session binding has no label, the current expression omits the session identifier from the details.

Update the `detail.textContent` construction so a session binding uses
`binding.sessionLabel` when present and falls back to `binding.sessionId` when
the label is absent. Preserve the project-only translation for bindings without
a `sessionId`.

Keep standalone previews readable without chrome.i18n. The translation helper returns keys when Chrome i18n is unavailable. Both previews replace English fallback text with those keys.

  • extensions/ab-connect/popup.js#L63-L63: retain readable fallback status and connection-error text in the no-Chrome branch.

…ed folders checked, newest session model

- The side panel's inspectProject and inspectProjectBind were refused by
the background page allowlist, so a site's project was never
preselected or remembered. The allowlist moves to agent-panel-bridge.js
(pageOperationAllowed) with a test that every host operation an
  extension page calls passes it.
- A project may not be inside a system tree (/etc, /usr, /System,
  /Library, /var, /opt/homebrew, ... canonical, so /etc/ssh is
/private/etc/ssh; Windows, Program Files, ProgramData), nor a folder
  that holds others (/, /Users, /home, /opt, /tmp, /Volumes) or the home
folder itself. The user's own temporary folder stays allowed.
- A resumed session's folder becomes the project only when it passes the
same checks; otherwise Claude Code and Codex continue in the private
folder and the panel says why (en/zh), and OpenCode, which restores a
session only for its own folder, refuses.
- Long sessions: the newest Codex model and the newest Claude/Pi title
win (the end of the file was read after its start).
