Summary

Adds a new conceptual guide under Understand Kosli explaining how to connect compliance evidence from PR-branch trails to main-branch trails.

  • Describes the two-flow pattern (PR flow + main flow) and why evidence doesn't automatically carry over
  • Provides a step-by-step workaround using kosli get trail + kosli attest generic
  • Covers risks: code equivalence after non-fast-forward merges, binary reproducibility, trust boundaries
  • Includes a GitHub Actions example
  • Notes that native trail linking is planned

Context: Internal discussion about a recurring customer question (also tracked in kosli-dev/server#5051).

Files changed

  • understand_kosli/linking_trails_across_branches.md (new page)
  • docs.json (navigation updated)

From @meekrosoft:

Would we not rather use the evaluate trail command to achieve this?

It should probably be moved to tutorials section, given the step-by-step guide.

- Use kosli evaluate trail as primary approach with get trail alternative
- Present both approaches in synced tabs (steps and GH Actions example)
- Move page from understand_kosli/ to tutorials/ under Multi-flow workflows

@meekrosoft Updated — the guide now presents kosli evaluate trail as the primary approach, with kosli get trail + jq as a lighter alternative. Both are shown in synced tabs across the steps and the GitHub Actions example.
