Thanks for the PR. I will create a new branch and cherry-pick only the first commit that contains the JRE version bump. |

v2.5.1 is now available with the JRE bump to v21 from the first commit in this PR. Closing this PR as it's superceeded by #47 |

Update JRE from version 17 to 21. 17 is no longer supported by SonarCloud.
