User Guide For T-Deck and Indicator

Tested devices

• LilyGO T-Deck (Plus) both referred to here as T-Deck
• Seeed Studio SenseCap Indicator D1(L / Pro) referred to here as Indicator

Notes

You can control this device based on this firmware through the official MeshCore APP from all available platforms including the WEBUI. Therefore, if some functions are not yet / not implemented, feel free to manage them via the APP connect. As far as the integration for certain functions is possible (flash size limited!) it may happen that it will be integrated (later?)!

General

• [Tap] on "<" or ">" to scroll through pages
• Config values can be changed by [tapping] on "Edit"
• T-Deck: turn off display with [TAP] on the Trackball, turn display on with either trackball or any keyboard keypress
• Indicator: turn display on/off with top button
• Note: Using a Stylus Pen with medium to large soft tip helps greatly with interaction on these devices
• Indicator: the touchscreen has a certain level of sensitivity that requires tapping and holding your finger and moving up or down slowly for scrolling. Same for Map panning.
• DM message groups (by node) are assigned a random color and the node in the list will change to that color for easier reference

Status Bar

• [Tap] on "WiFi" or "BLE" to Switch (asks to reboot to enable, WiFi needs SSID and Password to activate)
• On the right side you will find the battery indicator, [tapping] it will cycle between "Battery percentage", "Battery Volts", "Duty-Cycle percentage"

Contacts

• Contacts are "Auto Added" by default from discovered node adverts. You can change this in Mgmt->Contacts by tapping on Enabled/Disabled. If set to Disabled, you can search for and add Contacts from Node Adverts by a long [Tap] (3 sec) on the Contacts Tab. Long [Tap] again on Discovered tab to switch back to Contacts.
• [Swipe] "Up" or "Down" to scroll through list
• [Tap] on "Contacts" Tab to change Sort: Last Heard, A-Z, Last Msg and Filter: Favorites (and the rest of the contacts sorted by a-z)
• [Tap] on (individual Contact) for Details - [Tap] on Msg to send DM ([Tap] on Send to enter text)
• If there are unread Direct Messages you will see the Mail (envelope) icon in Red next to FAV USR etc. or with the general RED Mail indicator in the top-statusbar!
• To send a DM: [Tap] on Contact, [Tap] on Msg, [Tap] on Send, use popup keyboard (Indicator) v8 T-Deck just start typing after Msg no Send
• Repeater Admin Menu: [Tap] on Contacts, select Repeater with a [Tap], this opens the Contact detail view, and on this screen swipe from the middle - right to left. This opens the login prompt to the Repeater Admin Menu.

Msgs

• [Tap] "<" or ">" (or Msgs Tab) to switch between Channels and Node DMs
• [Tap] on channel name for Details
• [Tap] on individual message for details and to Delete
• [Tap-and-Hold] Back Button in Channel message list to delete all messages

Map

• [Tap-and-Hold] to (slowly) pan the map
• [Tap] "<" or ">" or "^" or "v" to navigate through the map
• [Tap] "+" or "-" to zoom (in) or (out)
• Node location colors: Gray: Green:
• Note: Map tile files should be organized in folder names by zoom level (6, 10, etc) and all placed in a 'tiles' folder in root of SD card

Mgmt

• [Tap] on Mgmt tab to bring up Mgmt Menu Page then [Tap] on any specific Topic Button for a Topic List. [Tap] on any blue button to change the value or status for any detail item in each Topic List
• [Tap] on "<" or ">" to scroll through various Topic Pages or [Tap] on Mgmt tab to return to Mgmt Menu
• Admin: you can check for and update FW on the T-Deck with a WiFi connection - no need to flash, this works with a [Tap] fully automatically (scroll to bottom Actions)
• Channels: Joined or Added Channels will show up under Msgs Tab under the default Public Channel
• • Join: Have other node copy key and paste into DM. [Tap] on new msg then in msg detail tap on msg text (should be key). Will say 'Copied'. [Tap] on Mgmt->Channels then 'Join'. Dbl tap on Secret Key field to paste key from msg then OK then enter Channel Name and OK.
• • Add: [Tap] on Mgmt->Channels then 'Add' and enter Channel Name (# first for public hashtag Channel, name without # is Private) then OK.
• • Share: [Tap] on Mgmt->Channels then 'Share' next to your Private Channel and OK to copy. [Tap] Contacts tab, [Tap] on Contact to share channel with, [Tap] Msg->Send, then dbl [tap] in text field to paste key then OK to send DM with Private Channel Key (invite). # hashtag channels just require sharing the Channel name not the key.

T-Deck Notifications (works only without connected Mobile [BLE/WiFi]!)

• Physical Keyboard Notifications via blinking when you receive new Channel (1x blinking) and new DM (2x blinking).
• Sound Notifications for boot, new channel message new DM message.
