Hello Gabriel, since the upgrade of the gs cloud images (due to the security patch) to version 2.28.5.0 in the babs_sdi project we are encountering gwc issues. When we reinitalize the gs cloud instance, some layers get deleted in the gwc and some remain. … single PUT Publishing a cascaded WMS or WMTS layer that already existed deleted it with recurse and created it again. The new layer took a new id, left its tile layer and every tile cached under it behind, discarded settings absent from the payload, and failed outright for a layer referenced by a layer group. Publish a cascaded WMS or WMTS layer that already exists in place, keeping its id, its tile layer with the tiles cached under it, and the settings absent from the payload.

This PR replaces the DELETE + POST mechanism by a PUT in the
create_wmts_layermethod of therestservice.py
