Physicist working on integrated and quantum photonics: I take photonic chips from simulation to tape-out to measurement. Since 2024 I've been a research assistant in the Hybrid PICs group at Fraunhofer HHI (Berlin), and my M.Sc. in theoretical physics at TU Berlin focused on numerical methods for non-Markovian open quantum many-body systems.
Open to: PhD positions in integrated/quantum photonics, open quantum systems or quantum computing theory (noise, decoherence, error correction), and R&D roles in photonic integrated circuits and quantum technology. Available from mid-November 2026, Berlin or anywhere in Germany.
- PIC design: arrayed waveguide gratings, MMI couplers (up to a 9×9 Talbot-effect splitter), spot-size converters and thin-film filters on polymer and silicon nitride, taken to tape-out
- Quantum light: characterising SPDC photon-pair sources (PPLN, Bragg reflection waveguides) with time-tagged coincidence measurements, plus the lab automation around them
- Open quantum systems: a local expansion of second-order non-Markovian quantum state diffusion with MPS/TDVP, run on spin chains of up to 35 sites on GPU clusters (first-author preprint, November 2026)
