Stale PhyloWidget artifacts remain in /treebase-web/src/main/webapp/test/phylowidget despite the widget being factored out.

Investigation

  • Searched codebase for references to the folder path and JAR filenames
  • No references found anywhere in the codebase

Changes

Removed the entire test/phylowidget folder containing:

  • PhyloWidget.jar
  • core.jar
  • itext.jar
  • jgrapht-jdk1.5.jar
  • pdf.jar

Note

The existing PhyloWidget-related controllers (DirectMapToPhyloWidgetController, SearchMapToPhyloWidgetController, PhyloWSController) are live web service controllers unrelated to these JARs.

Original prompt

There are still vestiges of the PhyloWidget lurking in the code base although we have factored this out. Specifically, there is a folder /treebase-web/src/main/webapp/test/phylowidget with some JARs in there. Why are they there? Are they being referenced anywhere? Can they be removed?

Remove the /treebase-web/src/main/webapp/test/phylowidget folder and its
unused JAR files (PhyloWidget.jar, core.jar, itext.jar, jgrapht-jdk1.5.jar,
pdf.jar). These files were vestiges from when PhyloWidget was being
integrated but are not referenced anywhere in the codebase.
