Right now "Pokey Park" is translated as "Poki-Parko", as if "Pokey" is a proper name. Given that the British American English version of the game has it as "Dinky Park", I assume that the word is meant to be an adjective referring to the park's small size.

This is my first contribution to the Esperanto localization, and I would like to contribute more, if I figure out the correct workflow, as I believe there's space for improvement.

Slight correction: that’s the American English version. The original British English version has it as "Pokey Park".

Oh, right, sorry.

As Gymnasiast said, Pokey Park is the original title of the park, which is what I (or the other translator at the time) tried to keep in the translation.

I would definitely welcome some help on the EO translation too. Me and another EO speaker worked on the initial translation years ago but now it's just me maintaining it, and I've admittedly gotten a little rusty since then.

That’s not what I meant, though. ‘pokey’ is just British English for 'small, cramped', just like ‘dinky’ is American English for the same. So I think OP has a point here that it should be translated.

Nice to hear that.

Seems like most translations don't change scenario names at all, some try to find an appropriate equivalent word, and the rest transcribe it phonetically.

$ jq ".\"rct1.scenario_meta.pokey_park\".name" *.json | grep -v "Pokey Park"
"حديقة بوكي" ("bwky", a phonetic transcription)
"El parc diminut" ("tiny")
"Dinky Park"
"Parque Pequeño" ("small")
"Pikkupuisto" ("little")
"Parc Minus"
"Parque Pokey"
"Parányi Park" (tiny)
"ポキー・パーク" ("pokī", a phonetic transcription)
"Miniaturowy park" ("miniature")
"Parque Pequeno" ("small")
"狭窄公园" ("narrow")

I tend to leave such decisions up to the individual translators. The point is to make the translation work for the intended audience after all. For example, I left them untranslated in Dutch because that’s what Dutch players would expect, but other languages might take another decision. By all means, look at the other translations for inspiration, but don’t feel compelled to do something just because most other languages do it.
