1397-1403: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAdd a regression test for the narrowed helix plus attention-DP guard.
The guard used to reject every helix plus attention-DP configuration. It now rejects only
pp_size > 1. No test exercises either branch, which the PR description also says. A future edit could reopenpp_size > 1or closepp_size == 1without any test failing.Smallest useful test, in
tests/unittest/_torch/executor/kv_cache/:
- Build a helix
Mappingwithenable_attention_dp=Trueandpp_size=2.- Construct
KVCacheManagerV2with block reuse off.- Assert
ValueErrormatching "only at pp_size 1".- Assert that the
pp_size=1case gets past this check, for example by stubbing the code after the guard. The guard runs before any allocation, so the test does not need a GPU-sized pool.
As per path instructions: "A new or changed validation rule, error path ... with no meaningful test."

Dev Engineer Review
KimiK3HelixA2Afor Kimi K3 under HELIX context parallelism with attention DP andtp_size=1. The path slices rows for MoE and the attention-residual stream, while attention uses full rows. It rejects padded batches and requires all layers after the first MoE layer to be MoE.QA Engineer Review

Trigger: Kimi K3 helix GEN with MegaMoE. Every helix rank holds the same T tokens, so a MoE that all-to-alls tokens either dispatches each token cp times or adds an all-reduce on top of its all-to-all.
This PR: GEN
cp_config.cp_type: HELIX+enable_attention_dp: trueattensor_parallel_size: 1turns on helix_a2a, no env switch. KDA and MLA stay head-TP over the CP group on all T rows. KDA's o_proj all-reduce becomes a reduce-scatter (all-reduce + keep own rows) and a symm_mem multimem all-gather restores its T rows; MLA reuses the base MLA helix + attention-DP hooks (_helix_cp_allgather_input/_helix_cp_output_projection, NCCL); the attention-residual stream and the MoE run onceil(T/cp)rows (MegaMoE all-to-all, shared expert replicated). Layer 0 (dense MLP) stays on all rows. Rows per rank follow_helix_cp_pad, the same split as DeepSeek-V3 / Qwen3 helix + attention DP. Attention DP stays on in the mapping:Mapping.mapping_for_full_rows()returns the head/vocab-TP view when the TP group shares requests (helix + attention DP at tp 1), and the full-row modules build on it (KDA, MLA output, layer-0 dense MLP, LM head, drafter, VL vision tower). Other models change only for helix + attention DP at tp 1. Padded (bcg) batches are rejected under helix_a2a.Executor changes for helix + attention DP at tp 1:
mamba_effective_tp_sizeand disaggMambaPolicy._mamba_tp: KDA state sharded over cp (was replicated against a 1/cp-sharded mixer). tp > 1 is unchanged.KVCacheManagerV2accepting helix + attention DP at pp 1 come from main ([None][fix] Python transceiver: run gen-side KV transfer consensus across helix CP ranks under attention-DP #19575); this PR does not change them.KimiLinearDecoderLayercarries@nccl_window_tensor_scoped_module, like main'sDecoderLayer: the KDA reduce-scatter frees an NCCL-windowAllReduceoutput inside the layer, which main's window lifecycle assert aborts on outside a scope.KvCacheCreator._get_draft_mapping(). A GQA drafter (16 KV heads) is built head-TP, 1 KV head per rank at cp 16, where the executor mapping charged 16. MLA drafters are unaffected (latent KV is not head-sharded). A unified draft-KV pool can call the same helper. Why KDA does not use NCCL like the MLA hooks → 16 ranks, T=512: NCCL all-gather 40.0 vs symm_mem 19.4 us, NCCL reduce-scatter 38.4 vs all-reduce 28.1 us; KDA is 69 of the 92 MoE layers. Why KDA stays head-TP → replicating it costs +7.2 ms per step.
Performance (GB300, Kimi-K3 NVFP4 + DSpark)
helix32, batch 64, MTP7: end-to-end step time 42.12 → 39.75 ms (-5.6%); one KDA + MoE layer 265.7 → 252.0 us (-5.2%) in the layer-wise benchmark. Layer-wise and end-to-end numbers were measured on a development branch carrying the same change, where MLA also used the symm_mem / all-reduce path.
Where the time goes, one KDA + MoE layer, 32 ranks, T = 512 tokens (us, rank-0 trace; kernel rows: mean over 38 steady replays, full layer: mean of 76 layer windows):
Kernel times do not add up to the critical path: the shared expert overlaps on the aux stream. The gain is the removed all-reduces; the cost is the fused MegaMoE kernel's fixed per-layer time, which does not shrink with T, so the result flips at small batches:
Layer-wise batch sweep, 3 KDA + MoE layers, real weights, 32 ranks, MTP7 (median over the 3 layers, us):
End-to-end gen-only, full-occupancy iterations (both arms serve the same requests), median step time:
GSM8K, 1319 samples, gen helix16 batch 32 MTP7, ctx tp16 (strict / flexible, stderr ~0.0053):
