ComfyUI added three Patina partner nodes (#17384) and workflow_templates shipped four matching templates (#1379). No docs page covered them.

New page: tutorials/partner-nodes/patina/material-generation.mdx

  • What Patina returns: a base texture plus basecolor, normal, roughness, metalness and height maps from one latent
  • The four templates as workflow sections: Material Extract, Text to Material, Image to Material, PBR Maps, each with its preview, download card and input material cards
  • Node controls table: map toggles, image size presets and the custom range, upscale factor, strength, tiling mode, tile size and stride, prompt expansion, auto downscale
  • Tips on prompt wording, which materials tile, and paying for only the maps you need

Cloud cards are commented out until the templates reach Comfy Cloud, matching how other same-day templates are handled.

Nav: new Patina group in the Partner Models 3D group (before Rodin), all five languages.

Translations are included for zh, ja, ko and es; heading structure, card counts, links and anchors match the English source.

Walkthrough

Adds Patina material-generation tutorials in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. The pages describe node workflows, controls, outputs, and setup. The 3D partner-node navigation now links to the tutorials in all five locales. The map is clear: each page documents the same set of workflows.

Changes: Patina tutorials and navigation

Put Patina first in the title.

Shorten the description.

The description is 174 characters, so search results can truncate the map list. Remove redundant wording while keeping the covered capabilities.

As per coding guidelines: descriptions must be “40 to 160 characters.”

Distinguish node defaults from template settings.

The nodes enable two maps by default. All four linked templates enable all five maps. A reader who runs a template without changing the toggles can incur a higher cost than this row describes. Don't let the toggles play tricks on the wallet: state both settings.

The same row appears in the English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean pages with the same default-only wording. Apply the same change to each of those rows.

In ComfyUI the provider runs through three partner nodes. **Patina Material** builds a material from a text prompt, from a photo, or from a photo plus a mask. **Patina Material Extract** pulls a tiling material out of a photo that already contains the surface you want. **Patina PBR Material Maps** converts one image into the map set without regenerating anything.

All three are cloud API nodes. They need a Comfy account with credits, download no model files, and bill per run, with every map you switch on adding to the price. See [Partner node pricing](/tutorials/partner-nodes/pricing) for current rates.

Provide a source for Patina pricing.

The linked pricing page has no Patina entry, so readers cannot find the rates promised here. Add the rates to that page or direct readers to the node’s price badge. Update the localized pages too. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Explain the placeholder outputs for disabled maps.

A disabled map still occupies its output slot as a black 1×1 image. The templates connect those slots to SaveImage, so following the advice to disable maps can save placeholder files as if they were generated maps.
