Feature Request
Hi, thank you for building Smart Second Brain.
I would like to request native support for DeepSeek as a third-party AI provider.
Currently, the plugin supports running locally via Ollama and using OpenAI as a third-party service. However, there is no dedicated DeepSeek provider option in the third-party services settings.
Describe your idea
Why this is useful
DeepSeek is becoming a popular AI provider and many users already use DeepSeek API for chat and reasoning models.
Adding DeepSeek as a native provider would allow users to configure DeepSeek directly without depending on OpenAI settings or local Ollama models.
Expected Behavior
In the "Run via Third-Party Services" tab, there should be a DeepSeek provider option.
Example settings:
- Provider: DeepSeek
- API Key
- Chat Model
- Embedding Model, if supported
- Base URL, optional or prefilled with DeepSeek's official API endpoint
Example DeepSeek models:
deepseek-chat
deepseek-reasoner
Current Behavior
At the moment, the third-party service settings only show OpenAI configuration:
- API Key
- Chat Model
- Embedding Model
There is no native DeepSeek option.
Suggested Implementation
Please add DeepSeek as a dedicated provider in the third-party services section.
