create GUI/store for Soar

Problem

No GUI for installing applications.

Expected behavior

Some sort of GUI, can be fork of Bazaar, bauh or AppImage Pool or some other solution.

Guess I was looking for a GUI that supports soar in vain. Yes a GUI would be nice. I started making a simple one as I couldn't find one.

Can you provide some ss, or tell which program is the inspiration for aeris?

The UI/UX pretty bad right now.. I was just focused on getting the core features working for soar integration. It's mostly working so I can focus on improving the UI/UX now before adding other features.

It's not really much of a inspiration from anything.. I looked into Bazaar and octopi, but the octopi layout won't work well for what I want.. Also, need to figure out where/how to store/get the icons if I want Bazaar like interface.

And flathub and snap store
But I don't know if you can take those. But they have text, links to projects, SS and icons.

Eventually database can be created later. But it could be easy to edit so people without programming skills could be able to contribute.

Ideas for future:

• I don't know if it is possible but it probably should be also able to be sandboxed considering it could be on flathub or snap store like appimage pool.
• modular? Maybe in future adding tab with GUI for app sandboxing using firejail or bubblewrap.

I'm thinking of creating a database of icons with mapping to packages from different package managers.. Will need to look into that..
