Nextcloud Bookmarks webui flow for managing bookmarks

Pardon the title, but want to share my experience after running Nextcloud Bookmarks for sometime.

I'm no longer able to add new accounts from Floccus, because I see:

E049: Failsafe: The current sync run would increase your local links count in this profile by 1579%. Refusing to execute. Disable this failsafe in the profile settings if you want to proceed anyway. If you didn't cause this, you can use the manual sync buttons to override the server state with the local state on this device. If you believe this is a bug, please reach out to the developers with the debug log of this run. | Last synchronized: 0 seconds ago

So, figured I'd attempt to resolve this from within Nextcloud Bookmarks directly. I attempt to use / root direct directory for bookmarks when possible, but I believe those actually exist within "Other Bookmarks". What I see in terms of my layout is:

• 📁 <-- no name, and contains nothing
• 📁 Bookmarks Bar
• 📁 Bookmarks Menu
• 📁 Mobile Bookmarks
• 📁 Other Bookmarks

I created a new primary directory called Migration. First thing I noticed... it is easy to create duplicate folders within the webui as I ended up with several. It also isn't visually clear when a folder is being created within a sub-directory, which could be handled with a confirmation during creation.

Next, when viewing an empty folder it isn't clear that one should browse to Bookmark Settings in order to import, but even then the bookmarks ended up in Other Bookmarks automatically and I can see no option to import them into the folder I've created or otherwise confirm where I want them to go. I'm importing too many bookmarks to be moving them around by hand.

Input appreciated, as I'm happy to backup/wipe away all of my bookmarks and folders in order to get everything imported and syncing properly through whatever tools. Guess my best solution in this case is:

• Disable sync
• Organize all of my bookmarks into files and folders on device or in browser first
• Only export my bookmarks once they are already organized into a directory structure I can identify without Floccus or Nextcloud Bookmarks
• Then, re-enable sync back up to Nextcloud Bookmarks

causes problems. You have made the right choice to come here and open an issue to make sure your problem gets looked at
and if possible solved.
I'm Marcel and have been maintaining this software the last few years. I currently work for Nextcloud but maintain this app
in my free time, because it is not an official Nextcloud product. My day job at Nextcloud is pretty awesome but sadly leaves me with
less time for side projects like this one than I used to have.
I still try to answer all issues and if possible fix all bugs here, but it sometimes takes a while until I get to it.
Until then, please be patient.
Note also that GitHub is a place where people meet to make software better together. Nobody here is under any obligation
to help you, solve your problems or deliver on any expectations or demands you may have, but if enough people come together we can
collaborate to make this software better. For everyone.
Thus, if you can, you could also look at other issues to see whether you can help other people with your knowledge
and experience. If you have coding experience it would also be awesome if you could step up to dive into the code and
try to fix the odd bug yourself. Everyone will be thankful for extra helping hands!

The pointer for this I always have is: This might not be a problem. If you just have very little bookmarks locally and are expecting to download the bulk of the bookmarks from the server in that new profile, maybe an increase by 1579% is fine. The reason for the warning is that floccus cannot possibly know this and chooses to rather be on the safe side and ask you.

It also isn't visually clear when a folder is being created within a sub-directory, which could be handled with a confirmation during creation.

Mmh, the new folder should always appear in the directory that you are in at the moment. What is not clear currently? Can you show a screenshot?

ah, there used to be a view for empty folders where you could import bookmarks directly, it seems to be broken :/

Importing bookmarks should always go into the currently opened folder.

Makes sense, my goal is simply to get the duplicates handled in a manner that might help with project documentation or whatever else at the same time. Figure it is useful to document steps after using Bookmarks for a long time.
