Network Settings Page is just white

Firstly, Awesome piece of software! I just stumbled across it and it works great!! Hopefully you are still answering questions a year later :)

When I try to go to the network settings page in the web browser, all I get is a blank white screen. Am I missing something obvious, or is this an issue?

I'm afraid I don't have the capacity to dive into this at the moment, but there are a few things you can check.

• Does it happen in all browsers or just a specific one?
• Does it happen both on mobile and desktop?
• If you open the browser's Developer Tools (pressing F12 usually works), then load the network settings page and look in the Network tab, are there any failed requests (they appear in red), and if so, what do they say? Or are there any Javascript errors in the Console tab? Let me know and I can see if there is anything obvious going wrong.

Thanks for the reply! It has been great in AP mode! It would just be nice to connect it to my lan so I can have a greater range throughout my house :)

It is happening on all browsers, mobile and desktop. I did get the page to load once on firefox on mobile, but was unable to actually change settings and got the white screen upon reload and ever since.

Just pulled up the browsers developers tools. No errors on the console in either chrome or firefox. Firefox did display the network page once, but as soon as I attempted to change a setting i got the confirmation/reboot popup, and then white screen.
I also tried emptying the browser cache and doing a hard reload of the page. No difference.

Don't got out of your way to troubleshoot it for me. Just wanted to make sure there was not something simple to fix it that i was missing.

This is the simple .img install. If I have time in the next few days, I will try and do a manual install and see if that is any different.

Is their a way to force client mode via ssh? If I manually connect to a network via ssh and not through your app, would that mess things up on future bootups.

Again, really like the software! Don't spend too much time trying to troubleshoot for me.

Another thing you can try is disabling your ad blocker (if you use one) for the site.

But you can certainly switch to client mode via SSH and connect it to a network. Run this command over SSH:

nohup $BM_SERVERCONTROL_DIR/connect_to_network.sh --save <your network SSID> <your network password> &

The connect_to_network.sh script is what the web app uses to connect to a network, so this should not cause any problems. The nohup part prevents the script from stopping when you become disconnected, which will happen when it turns off the access point you are connected to.

I did try without my ad blocker running, but no different. If I get some time, I will try a clean manual install and see if that make a difference. For now I am happy to use it as is, and I appriciate all your help! Like I said, great piece of software!

Do you have a network with a special character like ? nearby? :)

In the source code, the network name is probably set as a key in a json which fails to decode.

I hadn't thought of that! I do not though... I'm in the middle of 60 acres of farmland with just my two access points with two different ssids.

Would there be somewhere I could look to see and edit that? Or is it just as it scans writing to a temporary file?
