Yes, for classic inverters — the method already exists:

api.set_classic_inverter_on_off(serial_number, enabled)   # base_api.py:1441

It posts paramId: "pv_on_off" with command_1 of "0001" to turn on and "0000" to turn off, through update_classic_inverter_setting. There's a worked example in examples/settings_example_classic.py.

Two caveats worth knowing before you wire it up.

It's family-specific. pv_on_off is only sent by the classic path. set_classic_inverter_on_off is the only convenience wrapper of its kind — there is no MIX/SPH, TLX or NOAH equivalent. Those families each have their own settings entry point (update_mix_inverter_setting, update_tlx_inverter_setting, update_noah_settings), and whether they accept an equivalent parameter id isn't something the library asserts. If your inverter is one of those, the honest answer is that nobody has confirmed it here.

It's a write, and writes are what get accounts locked. #55 and #45 are both about Growatt blocking accounts after too-frequent calls. If you're going to toggle on a schedule, keep it sparing.

I created the following test script:

Login is successful, the set_classic_inverter_on_off method returns the following: {'msg': 'inv_set_failure', 'success': False}. Same when I try set_classic_inverter_active_power_rate. This should work?
