Timezone setting is not persistent

Describe the bug

The Timezone field in the profile settings keeps resetting after an arbitrary amount of time. This can happen either immediately, making it seem like setting the timezone failed, or after a number of days.

Reproduction

1. Set timezone to a non-default setting
2. Verify that the timezone is displayed correctly
3. Wait for an unknown amount of time
4. The timezone field has reset back to its default setting

Expected behavior

Setting the timezone should be a persistent operation just like all other profile settings fields.
