I don't think it's fixed. I tried with a build of the current development branch, as well as the current release, same issue.

I started looking into this last night but I'm not seeing the same thing in my logs. Http status code 403 indicates that the server is refusing your connection for some reason.

No, that commit is for refreshing Galactic POI information in the Navigation Monitor.

@rodan123 Could you please see if you have the same result from your browser?

1. Open the web development toolset in your browser (for Chrome-based browsers press CTRL+SHIFT+i)
2. Select the Network tab.
3. Navigate to https://community.elitedangerous.com/en/galnet-rss. Is the connection refused?
4. A row should appear in the Network tab like galnet-rss.
5. Select the row from the network tab for that http request, then screenshot and share all of the data that you can about the connection request?

I also noted some other errors, with Inara (errors in loadout), EDSM (timeouts), and parsing a Journal entry at startup (could not convert to integer). I'd assume these are separate from this Galnet one, and would need separate issues raised?

As I was writing this, I see you've asked for some additional info from the browser, so I've done the same. This is what I get with MS Edge:

See the screenshot below. Let me know if you need more. The connection seemed fine when accessing via the edge browser.

Thanks. My best guess so far is that EDDI might be trying to connect using a different security protocol than the browser. Not sure why it's happening for both of you but not for me. I assume you are both on Windows 11?

I had some time to investigate further this morning and believe I have found the issue causing the Galnet source URL to 403 requests. It seems that many server RSS feeds block requests that do not contain a USER AGENT in the header.

I have created pull request #2808 to resolve the issue. Tested successfully.
