Option to change orientation

It would be nice to have an option to change device window orientation from portrait to landscape and vice versa.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, this would be nice to have.

The orientation feature would require the following:

• Adding a UI element to the controller so the user can pick the orientation. Hint: controller/lib/widgets/control_panel/control_panel.dart#L45.
• Adding a property to the selections state tracked by the preview_api so the user selection is preserved between reloads. HInt: preview_api/lib/src/selections_state.dart.
• Adding an endpoint the preview_api to setOrientation. Hint: preview_api/lib/src/preview_api_service.dart
• Adding a channel method to setOrientation, this channel method would be handled by the preview and platform code. Hint: packages/monarch_definitions/lib/monarch_channels.dart
• The preview code will need to track the active orientation. Hint: packages/monarch/lib/src/preview
• The MonarchBinding would have to listen to that stream. Hint: packages/monarch/lib/src/preview/monarch_binding.dart
• Each platform has a function that resizes the preview window. These functions would have to be changed to take orientation into account. Hints:

  • linux: platform/linux/src/monarch_application.cc#L168
