Naming problem: NET-NEXT

After adding the latest BcryptNet NuGet package using Visual Studio 2026 with .Net 10 Windows we are getting this message when building and publishing the AppPackages for the project:

PRI249: Oxdef00520 - Invalid qualifier: NET-NEXT

When we remove the BcryptNet NuGet package no error.

Is there an issue publishing with "Net-Next" in the package name?

Is this for a UWP project; can you drop the csproj contents in the ticket as I've only see this error once before and it was a maui ticket on the .net repo

@ps30 I tried pulling the package into a maui app, winui, winforms and a wpf app; seemed ok and god willing one day microsoft will settle on a desktop system to actually build and improve upon 😆

I'm guessing its UWP but I've been unable to reproduce the issue with this proj file

though mine is loading from microsoft.windows.sdk.buildtools.msix not microsoft.windows.sdk.buildtools
UWP .net native which is depreciated builds fine. So you'll have to direct me.

This is a C# .Net 10 WPF Windows desktop app using DesktopBridge and creating AppPackages with MSIX project. From the MSIX project:

<TargetFramework>net10.0-windows10.0.19041.0</TargetFramework>

Error is generated on MSIX AppPackage publish where VS2026 creates the appname.msix bundle for installation.
