Git unlock “not valid git-crypt file” #308

Description

@zzph

Hi folks,

I’m new to git-crypt.

I had a repo setup working fine on a computer, but that computer is now not working.

I’ve cloned that repo on another device, and am trying to “unlock” the encrypted files.

git-crypt ~/git-crypt-keys which says it is “not a valid git-crypt file”.

Years ago, I tried to backup the keys (not sure how I did this). I have a zip folder with these files:

// contents of git-crypt-keys
openpgp-revovs.d/
private-keys.v1.d/
pubring.kbx
random_seed
sshcontrol
trustdb.gpg

Question

  • can any of the above files help me decrypt my content?
