Unable to connect

Running ADTPro version 2.1.0 on a Mac with Monterey 12.7

Connecting to an AppleII+ with 64K

Using the terminal app to check which Java version I get:
java version "1.8.0_431"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_431-b10)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.431-b10, mixed mode)

I am using the Sabrant USB to serial cable. And loaded its drivers on my Mac.
Maybe this is the problem?

I also added the RXTX library for Java. But that didn't make a difference

Looks like this has been around a while - this combination of hardware sounds like it ought to work, on the face of it. On the server side, if you look at File -> Serial Configuration from the client app, do you see the USB device added under "Port" on that screen?
